Rare coin, being a coin that rarely appears on the market and in this state of conservation is very very rare. D. João Prince Regent (1799-1816), was born in lisbon on May 13, 1767, son of D. Maria I and D. Pedro III. Due to the Queen Mother's illness, Prince D. João took on the responsibility of government from 10 February 1792, assuming it definitively as Prince Regent from 15 July 1799, until his mother's death.

Silver 960 réis coin, known as the Patacão, issued in 1810 for colonial Brazil under Prince Regent D. João. Struck at the Rio de Janeiro Mint (“R”), this VF+ example shows characteristics typical of overstruck pieces and is valued for its historical relevance and importance within Luso‑Brazilian numismatics.

José I (Brazil), as catalogued in World Coins Brazil KM 175.1. This example has a High Crown with a Potent Cross featuring a filled design similar to a Cross Pattée. Legislation: Royal Charter of April 18, 1809. Following the French invasion of Portugal and the subsequent transfer of the Portuguese court to Brazil, the Prince Regent ordered, as a means to cover expenses and due to the scarcity of circulating currency, that earlier Brazilian coins from previous reigns be countermarked with the "Escudete" on both copper and silver coins. For copper coins, this countermark doubled their face value, effectively increasing their legal tender value twofold.

Features a low crown with a lozenge diadem (one-point), with a simple cross; the reverse shows floral designs with closed petals and a large center. Listed in World Coins as Portugal KM#272. Queen Maria I, known as "The Pious," was the 27th monarch of Portugal. Born in 1734, she reigned from 1777 until her death in 1816. She was married to King Peter III.

This is a silver two-pataca coin, “High Crown” variety, listed in the World Coins Brazil catalog under number KM#207.2. Maria I and Peter III (1777–1786) ruled jointly; Queen Maria I, known as “The Pious,” was the twenty-seventh monarch of Portugal. Portugal, silver coin with rim cord and Orla Nova (New Border) die of King Pedro II, according to the law of June 14, 1688, applied over a Half Cruzado silver coin of King João IV (1640–1656), bearing the 250 Réis crowned countermark (variant type “B”) of King Afonso VI (1656–1667), Portugal and Brazil.

There are many variants not yet classified in the Alberto Gomes catalog; numerous combinations of legends and border types exist, some of considerable rarity, even though they are generally listed in catalogs in a generic way. In my view, this coin represents a combination of some rarity.

The 3 Vinténs silver coins of King Peter II (1683–1706), equivalent to 60 réis, usually feature royal crowns with beaded arches. This specimen corresponds to a rare and atypical variant, displaying a royal crown with four smooth arches “non‑beaded”, a characteristic not catalogued in Alberto Gomes. The obverse legend is PETRVS•II•D•G•PORT•ET•ALG•REX and the reverse legend •✤•IN•HOC•SIGNO•VINCES. This variant stands apart from the regular issues of the reign, in which the crown arches are beaded, making this type particularly appealing to collectors of numismatic varieties. International classification: World Coins KM#138.

6 Vinténs (120 Réis) silver coin of Peter II, struck at the Lisbon mint, featuring a high four‑arched beaded royal crown and a reverse legend separated by points. A scarce variety, sought after by collectors of typologies and numismatic variants of the reign of Peter II.

Pedro IV, nicknamed "The Soldier King", was the twenty-ninth King of Portugal, born in 1798 and reigned over Portugal from 1826 to 1828, he died in 1834, his wife was Dona Maria Leopoldina Josefa Carolina de Habsburgo .

1854 issue of the 100 Réis, the only Tostão of Pedro V featuring the straight‑hair bust — a distinctive and historically significant portrait used exclusively in this first emission. This VF+ example offers excellent detail across the portrait, legend and facial value, with light wear and strong overall definition. A high‑quality piece within this series, ideal for collectors seeking a well‑preserved and visually appealing 1854 Tostão.

Portugal 200 Réis dated 1855 from the reign of King Pedro V, belonging to the straight‑hair bust type. This VF+ silver two‑tostões specimen shows above‑average detail on the portrait and laurel wreath, representing one of the most desirable conservation levels within the P5.04.03 series.

Silver 500 réis coin dated 1856 from the reign of King D. Pedro V, featuring the curled‑hair bust type and corresponding to five tostões. Classified as Alberto Gomes P5.07.02 and World Coins KM494, this is a high‑grade example of a mid‑19th‑century Portuguese issue.

Angola 5 Escudos 1921, issued by the Banco Nacional Ultramarino and printed by Bradbury Wilkinson & Co. The obverse features the portrait of Francisco de Oliveira Chamiço, the Portuguese coat of arms and the Steamship Seal Type III, with signatures of HJMM and JHU. 10 Centavos banknote issued on November 5, 1914 by the Banco Nacional Ultramarino for circulation in Lourenço Marques (present-day Maputo, Mozambique), bearing the serial number 6,405,950. Printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. The 5 Pounds Sterling 1934 banknote of the Mozambique Company belongs to the final sterling issue produced for circulation within the Company’s concession territory. Printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co., it features the refined colonial design typical of high‑value notes: central allegorical vignette, Company coat of arms, ornate borders and elegant typography.

The perforation “PAGO 5.11.1942” was used for internal administrative settlements and does not affect authenticity. The signatures correspond to the official authorities of the period: António Augusto Pereira Cabral (Governor) and António de Sousa Lara (Managing Administrator).

This note represents an important historical period, marking the final phase of the Company’s financial autonomy before full integration into the Portuguese monetary system.

The 20 Centavos 1933 banknote, issued by the Mozambique Company in Beira, belongs to the final phase of sterling‑denominated fractional issues before the Company’s powers were abolished in 1942. Printed by BRADBURY, WILKINSON & CO. LTD. LONDON, it features a clean, functional design with the Portuguese Coat of Arms, geometric borders and a prominent face value. This example bears serial number 275,776, is preserved in UNC condition, and includes the “PAGO 5.11.1942” perforation applied during the liquidation of these issues. A historically significant piece representing low‑value fiduciary currency in colonial Mozambique.
