10 Centavos Coins (1969–1979)

The 10 centavos aluminum coins, minted between 1971 and 1979, are commonly known in Portugal as “Marcelinos.” Issued by the Portuguese Republic under Decree-Law No. 49 167 of August 4, 1969, these coins bear the international numismatic code KM#594. Their official issuance was discontinued by Decree-Law No. 267/81 of September 15, 1981. In total, 113,579,470 specimens were produced during this period.
