Portugal 5$00 Banknote

The 5$00 escudos banknote issued by the Bank of Portugal corresponds to five escudos and includes four distinct issues with different designs and characteristics. Chapa 1 features Alexandre Herculano, with notes dated from 29 July 1913 to 1 February 1923. Chapa 2 depicts João das Regras, issued between 10 July 1920 and 13 January 1925. Chapa 3 shows the Palácio da Bolsa in Porto, with a single issue dated 10 November 1924. Chapa 4 presents Álvaro Vaz de Almada, dated 13 January 1925. All issues include collectible variants of dates, signatures, prefixes, serial numbers and printing anomalies. Internationally catalogued as Pick 114, Pick 132 and Pick 133, these notes form one of the most diverse and sought‑after denominations in Portuguese paper‑money collecting.
