Coin issuance ceased under Decree‑Law No. 765/75/86 dated December 31, 1975, and coins were withdrawn from circulation on January 1, 1982, pursuant to Decree‑Law No. 267/81 of September 15, 1981. The designers and engravers were: Jaime Martins Barata (obverse), Marcelino Norte de Almeida (reverse), José Rosa (engraver). The coin is cataloged internationally as KM #600 in the Standard Catalog of World Coins (Krause)
