Cape Verde 2 1/2 escudos Escudos coin, dated 1953, made of cupronickel, corresponding to two escudos and fifty centavos (2$50 escudos). It is listed in the international World Coins catalog under the reference Cape Verde KM#9. The coin was created by Decree No. 38,975 of October 31, 1952, for circulation in the then Portuguese overseas colony of Cape Verde, and was minted with the dates 1953 and 1967, in a cupronickel alloy (Cu 750 – Ni 250). alloy (composition: 75% copper, 25% nickel).
