10 Réis and 20 Réis Coins of King Carlos I (1889‑1908)

The 10 Réis and 20 Réis coins of King Carlos I (1889‑1908) were struck exclusively in bronze and issued only in 1891 and 1892, representing two of the lowest denominations of the reign. Both values include variants with the mintmark A, corresponding to the Paris Mint. These types are catalogued in the Alberto Gomes groups C1.02.xx (10 Réis) and C1.03.xx (20 Réis), and listed in the World Coins catalog (KM#532 and KM#533). They feature the official portrait of the monarch and the characteristic design of late 19th‑century Portuguese bronze coinage.
