Belongs to the second issue of 2$50 escudos coins of the Portuguese Republic. Created by Decree-Law 45 129 of June 12, 1963, their emission ceased under the terms of Decree-Law 293/86 of September 12, 1986, and was withdrawn from circulation on October 1, 1998 by Decree-Law no. 139/98 of 16 May 1998. The authors and Engravers of this coin were Jaime Martins Barata (Obverse), Norte de Almeida (Reverse), José Rosa (Engraver).
