Our Catalog of commemorative coins from Portugal, includes all issues of commemorative coins with normal finishing, issued from the establishment of the Republic in 1910 until the introduction of the Euro (€) in 2002, 90 years have passed in which the National Press Casa da Moeda (INCM) issued commemorative coins minted in escudos, these alluding to remote or current events of its minting era, with its obverse, reverse, size and design atypical to the various monetary systems issued for circulation. Many of these commemorative coins were also issued by the INCM of the same coin in different metals and in special finishes, these being denominated as PROOF, BNC, FDC.
